Company Accountant

Exciting Opportunity to join our Team at The Original Holding Company

We are looking for an energetic, positive and organised person to join our growing portfolio of family enterprises.

¯ Wolterton Hall is a Grade 1 listed property of historic importance. The estate has other properties, some of which have been renovated for holiday accommodation. Further renovations are planned as we implement our master plan for the estate. The grounds cover 458 acres, including a 10 acre lake and one of the largest walled gardens in Norfolk.

¯ Flint Vineyard is an exciting, growing winery. Balancing old-world traditions with modern analysis and pioneering techniques, Flint produces some of the most highly regarded wines in the UK.

The role will involve working at both Wolterton Hall and Flint Vineyard (both amazing locations to work!). There may be some working from home too.

You will be responsible for the accounts function for both businesses (with more businesses likely to join the family over time), including both the day to day transactional side of things as well as month and year end duties such as reconciliations, accounts and budgeting processes.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a positive, hands-on person who can get stuck in and is also able to organise people and processes around them. An ability to be flexible, work on your own initiative and manage competing workloads is essential. The role is expected to grow and we would like someone who can grow with it.

The candidate will need to have attention to detail, be able to deal with a variety of work and possess excellent communication skills.

The role will require excellent computer skills, specifically the use of Microsoft Office, with knowledge of Xero and Sage accounting systems desirable.

Being conscientious, self-motivated, honest and reliable is essential for us as well as a good sense of humour, we believe in not taking ourselves too seriously!

We are looking for someone with at least a higher level Accounting Qualification AAT Level 4 or relevant on-the-job experience, with financial/accounting skills (including VAT reporting) and experience.

Experience of investment accounting and duty returns desirable.

We expect that you will be living in Norfolk – around Norwich is a good central point between the different businesses, but as long as you have your own transport you will be able to get around.
